Service 01 · For children & adults

Neurodevelopmental assessments.

Clear, thoughtful assessments to help make sense of learning, attention, emotions, behaviour or other areas that feel tricky — understanding the whole person, strengths and context, rather than just labels.

Service 02 · All ages · MHTP welcome

Individual counselling.

My approach focuses on the person, not the diagnosis. We build on what's already working, explore what matters to you, and support growth — for children, teenagers, and adults.

CBTACTSchema-informedTrauma-informedStrengths-basedMindfulness

The rhythm of the work.

Across ages, the concerns that most often bring people in are anxiety, low mood, trauma, stress, grief and loss, relationship difficulty, adjustment to diagnoses, and the complicated feelings that come with neurodivergent identity.

  • GP referral or self-referral
With a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, Medicare rebates apply — up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
  • Intake session + rating scales
We establish a baseline we can track change against — because what we're doing should be working, and we should be able to see it.
  • Weekly or fortnightly 50-minute sessions
In-person in Berwick or secure telehealth. We agree on goals together and revisit them at key points.
  • Review letter to your GP at session 6
Part of the Better Access process, and good communication in general.
  • Final review letter at session 10
At the end of a plan I write a final summary to your GP — outcomes, what worked, what might be next.
  • Treatment summary when we finish
When you're ready to stop, I prepare a treatment summary — for you, for your GP, for your records.

The Gottman Method, applied.

The Gottman Method draws on more than four decades of research into what actually differentiates relationships that thrive from those that struggle. It's structured, practical, and deeply respectful of both partners. I'm Level 2 qualified in the method.

  • Structured intake — together and apart
A joint session with both partners, plus individual sessions with each of you, plus the Gottman online assessment (about 480 questions per partner).
  • A written formulation
After intake, I share a written formulation of what's going well, what's struggling, and where we'll focus.
  • Ongoing couples sessions
60–90 minute sessions, weekly or fortnightly. Structured, practical tools — not just talking.
  • Shared portal for both of you
One login for the couple — shared access to intake forms, documents, and session logistics.

What I offer WorkCover clients.

  • Evidence-based, recovery-focused therapy
Tailored to your injury and goals. No cookie-cutter approach — I work with where you're actually at.
  • Full stakeholder liaison
Communication with your GP, your case manager, your insurer, your employer (where appropriate) — all handled by me.
  • Treating Health Practitioner reports on request
Detailed THP reports when your case manager or insurer needs them — clear, timely, and written with your recovery in mind.
  • Insurer billing, small out-of-pocket each session
The insurer is billed $203.91 per session at the WorkCover rate. Your out-of-pocket is the difference: $46.09 on the first session and $16.09 on each ongoing session.
Frequently asked

Things people ask me often.

Do I need a GP referral?
For assessments: no, you can self-refer. For counselling: a GP referral with an MHTP unlocks Medicare rebates. For WorkCover: referral comes through your insurer. For couples: self-referral, no GP needed.
What rebates apply?
Medicare rebates apply to assessment sessions and counselling sessions under an MHTP (up to 10 per calendar year). Private health fund rebates vary by insurer and policy. Couples therapy is generally not Medicare-rebatable. WorkCover is billed directly to the insurer — no cost to you.
How long does an assessment take?
Typically 6–10 weeks from first appointment to final report, depending on the referral question and how quickly forms come back from schools/workplaces. I'll give you a realistic estimate at intake and keep you updated through your client portal.
How do Gottman couples assessments work?
The initial assessment phase is three sessions — one joint, one individual with each partner — plus the Gottman online questionnaire you complete at home. After that, I share a written formulation and we begin ongoing couples sessions.
Can you see clients via telehealth?
Counselling and couples therapy are available via secure telehealth. Assessments require in-person testing sessions — but all the intake, questionnaires, and feedback can be done remotely.
